Copyright Policy
Our Approach
For our Blank Slate project, we utilize an AI-first translation approach to create new Bible translations. This innovative methodology allows us to produce high-quality translations efficiently while maintaining originality in our work.
One of our chief aims is to ensure AI systems consistently produce novel translations. For this reason, along with a commitment to respect existing copyrights, we are interested in ensuring that our translations are not similar to existing translations. In cases where such similarity is due to the constraints that exist for rendering the source text accurately in the target language, we recognize there will be significant overlap between all available translations.
Copyright Concerns
If you have concerns about potential copyright infringement in any portions of the Bible translations we are creating, we take these matters seriously and invite you to:
- Submit specific passages with exact biblical references
- Identify the specific translation you believe may have been infringed
- Provide detailed explanation of your concerns, including the texts you believe are being infringed, relevant information about the publisher, copyright jurisdiction, etc.
Important Considerations
When evaluating potential copyright concerns, please note:
- For major languages, multiple translations exist in the marketplace
-
Similar wordings often occur naturally across different translations
due to:
- Limited ways to express certain concepts clearly
- Shared source texts and scholarly traditions
- Common translation approaches for specific passages
- Before submitting a concern, please verify that the suspected infringement is not simply a case of natural similarity found across multiple existing translations
