About Frontier R&D

We build production translation infrastructure—the systems, workflows, and AI tooling that organizations depend on to translate Scripture and essential content across hundreds of languages.

Our work is grounded in a conviction that God's Word belongs in every language, and that the teams doing this work deserve reliable, well-governed tools—not prototypes. We design for the long arc: structured review processes, version-controlled content, and AI that serves human judgment rather than replacing it.

We operate two major platforms under active production load— Aquilla (formerly Codex), a web-based translation editor built for multi-stage review workflows, and LangQuest, a language data collection platform that maps linguistic patterns across underserved languages. Both are maintained by dedicated engineering teams with clear ownership and continuous delivery.

Our AI research sits alongside—not above—the engineering work. We invest in applied research that improves translation quality, reduces reviewer burden, and extends coverage to languages with limited training data. Every research output is evaluated against production readiness before integration.
